Building and history

Wauquiez Centurion 45 built in 1992 at the Wauquiez shipyard to designs by architect Ed Dubois. A monolithic polyester yacht, the laminated interior bulkheads are glued to the deck and hull. The ballast is lead and the keel bolts are driven into the ballast. Fibreglass sandwich deck with additional reinforcement under deck fittings and winches. The deck is glued to the hull using a moulded overlap. The deck is finished in Kiwi grip with horizontal surfaces in the cockpit in solid teak.
The current owner, a former coastguard and surveyor, has been taking care of the boat for the past 10 years in Hawaii and has carefully prepared it for sailing in French Polynesia.
