A sleek hull, with slender lines, built by the CANADOS shipyard in Lazio, Italy, according to the designs of the architectural firm Violati & Partners.
Hull in monolithic polyester, thickness 17mm. Reinforced deck, the teak has been replaced on the walkthroughs by an additional laminate with anti-slip finish, very clean. All bulkheads are laminated to the hull for great structural rigidity.
The boat has always been loved and maintained by her owners: the maintenance of the surfaces, mechanics, electricity and plumbing attest to a high professional level.
The original engine was replaced by a Nanni Diessel in 2009. Accessible through the hatch in the cockpit, the whole engine installation is as new.
After a first life in the Mediterranean Sea, this yacht had a major refit in 2011, in Italy, and arrived in 2014 in the Pacific and then to New Zealand.
The boat received an anti-osmosis treatment during her stay in dry dock in 2011. She has also spent long periods of time in dry dock since then which has kept the hull perfect with no trace of osmosis.
The rigging was replaced in 2011, with dismasting and mast painting.

Also in 2011: HYDROVANE windvane gear, wind generator, watermaker, electric windlass, halyards and sheets, auto pilot, toilets and pipes, cockpit teak, generator and mattress in the forward cabin.
Also in 2011, the boat was equipped with a spinnaker pole, a new RECKMANN genoa furler and a BAMAR staysail furler. These two sails were revised for the navigation back from NZ.
2015 : new saddlery for the saloon, new anchor chain.
2017 : new gas stove, new semi-rigid dinghy with aluminium bottom of 2,40 m, new life raft, new fridge and solar panels, Epirb beacon and mattresses for the aft cabins.
As a professional sailor, I have sailed on many boats but this Canados 44 is one of the best I have experienced. She is a serious boat, sturdy, comfortable, fast and performing at all points of sail.
I'm selling her because I spend all my time on the Mediterranean sea for other owners and don't have time to sail for myself anymore.
