Building and history

Daggerboard catamaran built in 1998 by the Catana shipyard (Canet en Roussillon - France) according to the designs of Christophe Barreau.
Construction by vacuum infusion, in stratified composite foam / fiberglass / carbon fiber / aramid fiber / polyester resin / vinylester resin.
2004/2005 : important technical refit.
2011 : complete refit in New Zealand with full osmosis preventive, kevlar reinforced bows, changes of through-hulls.
2013 : new Sparcraft aluminum mast and new full standing rigging.
1st owner : 1998 - 2003
2nd owner : 2004 - 2015 Mediterranean, South America, West Indies, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand and back to Polynesia.
3rd owner: 2015 to date Polynesia (Marquesas, Tuamotus, Society)

A word from the owner

We have chosen the Catana 471 with daggerboard for the owner's version because she combines performance, safety and comfort of life on board.
After 6 years of happiness and sailing in Polynesia with our family, we decided to put Papou Nui up for sale to go back to the land and continue the adventure in a different way.
