Sailboat type CHATAM 330 Extreme, steel centerboard, according to CAROFF design.
Sailboat for navigation in Patagonia, having already made Iceland and Greenland. Very well designed and built, third to be built in steel by its first owner, a professional electrician, who was forced to sell her because of health problems.
All points of stress and friction, as well as those susceptible to corrosion, are stainless steel: bow, chainplates, mounting plates, chain wells, stanchion bases, pulpits, cockpit floor, water outlets and evacuations, tank shower, draw for a stove, foot of the toilet ...
Very solid construction, with longitudinal reinforcing lugs in flat iron, without angles or blind spots. Thicknesses of sheet metal 5mm. - 4mm. - 3mm.
Two 50mm stainless steel rudder shafts. Propeller shaft diam. 35.
Highly developed rudder system with two compensated rudders, two outer rudder sections and a set of cables and external returns for easy control and intervention, as well as the coupling of a tiller.
A technical area with a heating system is provided for the installation of a water heater, the plumbing is in place.
Very effective bottom protection brand META, interior and exterior, then the use of antifouling paint is not necessary.
The sailboat had a complete overhaul and update for the trip in June 2017, with replacement of the forestay, installation of the genoa fuller, Main and new genoa, new battery sets, autopilot ...

A word from the owner

This sailboat is bright and cozy. Very safety, she has a good behaviour as well in good weather as in rough weather. Close to the wind, her performance is not the best but she is quite powerful at other speeds and is well stiff.
