Ketch with daggerboard Kif 43 type, built in 1981 by NAVI Plaisance shipyard in France and on the design of the architect Sylvestre Langevin.
Steel hull cut to shape, polyester/epoxy coating, thickness 4mm, deck insulation up to the waterline.
Daggerboard in sheet metal and the lead ballast is located in the keel. Front sail locker and rear locker.
Her well-built hull and deck show very few signs of ageing, and very little rust, always superficial, which, given her age, is proof of the care she has received and especially of the quality of its construction.
The initial polyester coating has progressively peeled off over the years, and has been replaced by a modern epoxy coating that is more effective and durable in this type of application.
There is one remaining polyester blister to be repaired in this manner, on the port side aft, which presents no difficulty, and does not affect the protection of the hull.
The deck has a Vetus anti-slip, in good condition. There are a few cracks in a few places, but the anti-slip has many years to go.
There is no bolting through the deck. The fittings are screwed onto stainless steel plates welded to the deck, with corresponding threaded holes.
In addition to the numerous dorade boxes, the deck hatches (Goiot) are sufficiently numerous for good ventilation of the boat. The large cabin hatches can be opened in both forward and aft directions.
The sail locker has a large capacity and is accessible through a deck hatch. It gives access to the chain locker.
At the rear is a large locker accessible through two stainless steel panels. In addition to the possible storage spaces, it also gives access to the helm area and the autopilot. The spare rudder is stored on the deck, and is really usable thanks to an extension of the rudder stock arriving flush with the deck, always in place.
There are many winches to serve all the sheets and halyards. Several sheet-tracks allow to manage the headsails in many configurations (expect rust treatment on one of the two port tracks).
The deck grab rails are solid (stainless steel) and well placed.
The interior layout is warm and of high quality.
The central area has many removable panels allowing a very good access to the engine hold, for control and maintenance. Above the engine hold is the floor (stainless steel plate) of the central cockpit, which is easily removable to take out the engine, if necessary. The bottom is clean and recently repainted.
The engine has been recently removed, the bilge and the engine checked and repainted. The electronics need to be modernized, although they are sufficient as is for cruising.
At the last refit in November 2022: Stripping of old paint layers, 3 layers of epoxy primer, 3 - 4 layers of antifouling. Painting of the dead works.
This yacht has beautiful, taut lines and an elegant, reassuringly marine hull shape. The central cockpit is well protected. It is a boat that has been designed to sail in all seas. Her interior wheelhouse, with her bubble, allows to steer under cover in heavy weather.
