Building and history

Monolithic polyester Sun Shine 36 DL centerboarder with ballast built in 1983 by Jeanneau shipyards, Les Herbiers, according to designs by architect Tony Castro. She sailed from Brittany to the West Indies in 2020, then to Polynesia in 2022.
The current owner bought the boat in 2019 for a travel project. For several months, she was undergoing a major refit on land. The hull was stripped bare to apply two layers of epoxy primer, two layers of interlayer and three layers of antifouling. No traces of osmosis were observed, as the previous owner took the boat out of the water every winter for several months.
In 2019, a new centerboard was fitted with a reinforced centerboard pin.
From its acquisition in 2019 until today in 2023, the boat has always been lived in and maintained.
In 2022, with a view to a trip to Polynesia, a new refit was carried out in Guadeloupe, with the boat dried out, antifouling, a new rudder in epoxy-laminated CP and other work. The standing rigging was inspected and was found to be in good condition.
In October 2022, after the propeller shaft became bent, the boat was taken out of the water, a new propeller shaft was fitted and the antifouling was redone using International semi-erodible.
This boat has been very well maintained, and a lot of work has been carried out. She's ready to go, very well equipped and fully fuelled with the miles she's covered. It's a good compromise between good performance and habitability. No work is required.
