Building and history

The Blue Sky 51 is built as a Custom Steel Pilothouse yacht and built by the HMI Entreprenad AB shipyard with super yacht standards in Sweden in 1991.
The boat was built 1991, sandblasted and painted beginning of 1992 and launched for the first time mid July 1996.
This yacht is rare quality throughout - from her engineering and design to construction and with the purpose to make comfortable passages, designed and constructed to effectively deal with the realities of ocean voyaging and long term live aboard. Watertight collision bulkheads, fully weather protected helm station, full sized engine room with complete and easy access to all maintainable systems, low maintenance exterior, extremely functional interior, lots of storage space both on deck and below, are just some of the features on this model. The yacht is absolutely ready in all respects to step aboard and continue cruising. To stay in cold places, is no issue due to the 60mm PU insulation. The boiler and the insulation will easily keep the temperature inside to your preference no matter the temperature outside. The interior is all in teak and solid teak is used wherever possible. She has so far only received positive comments in each harbour she has visit.


The engine room is placed below the center cockpit and one enters via a door in the companionway.
