1986 Tayana 37 polyester cutter, hull no. 486, she was designed by naval architect Robert Perry, built in the Ta Yang boatyard in Taiwan. She was one of the final Tayana 37 cutters built by the Ta Yang yard. Ta Yang, which means in Chinese “Big Ocean”, branded their own yachts “Tayana” meaning “belongs to big ocean.” Hence, this boat was built for ocean voyaging.
She is wholly owned and has been maintained/operated by her current owners, since 2000. She has voyaged extensively since 2000, both in the North and South Pacific Ocean basins.
